Bollywood superstar Salman Khan will soon be launching his own smartphone brand: BeingSmart. The superstar already runs a chain of clothing and fashion accessories under his Being Human brand.

Right now, the superstar is getting investors for his ventures and working on building an organisational management team that will include professionals who have previously worked at Samsung and Micromax. The first phones from the brand will be meant for the entry- to mid-range market and will cost less than Rs 20,000. They will be running on Android, though their feature set and specifications remain unknown for now. Initially, BeingSmart smartphones will be sold online, with offline availability being expanded via partnerships with electronic chains and large smartphone sellers. In addition, they might be sold in Being Human stores as well. The superstar had first come up with the idea of launching a smartphone brand two years ago and talked to some existing Indian smartphone manufacturers. However, these companies backed out due to the high royalty charges the superstar demanded. This time around though, Salman Khan himself is looking into the whole thing and is looking for investors and building a team to run the show. The first smartphones from the BeingSmart brand will be available in India before the festive season starts in the country i.e. by the end of Q3, 2017. Considering the stardom that Salman Khan enjoys in the country, it is possible that smartphones launched under the BeingSmart brand will have a huge demand among his fans.
