The 6″ and 7″ variants the Fire HD come with a 1280 x 800 resolution screen that is brighter and more vibrant than the previous generation Fire HD tablets, and are protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass. The tablets are powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and feature a GPU that provides 3x the performance of the Galaxy Tab 4. They also feature front and rear facing cameras allowing users to capture videos in full HD resolution. Other notable features on the new Fire HD tablets include Dolby Digital Plus Audio, all-day battery life, Advanced Streaming and Prediction and more. The tablets will be available in five colors including black, white, cobalt, magenta and citron, and will go up for pre-order from today itself with the device expected to ship sometime in October. The 6-inch variant of the Fire HD will set users back by $99 while the 7-inch variant will cost them $139.
