The LG Nexus 5 is an OK phone. Some might even call it a great phone. But the farther of the Nexus 5, the LG G2, is an even better device. The screen is larger, brighter, and more accurate. The camera is a million times better. The battery is gigantic. And while yes, the software leaves a lot to be desired, in terms of hardware, the G2 kicks the Nexus 5 square in the pants. Trust me on this, LG invited me out to lunch a few weeks ago and I got to spend more than hour with each of the two mentioned devices.
Should you buy the G2, root it, and flash a stock ROM? I personally wouldn’t, I’d try to make the best of LG’s software, but I understand that I’m not exactly a bleeding edge Android user like some of you out there. But yeah, given the choice between the Nexus 5 or the G2, I’d take the G2. Easy.
